MATERO NORTH RESIDENTS BEMOAN DELAYS TO OPEN POLICE POST

Residents of independence compound in Matero North have expressed concern over delays to open the newly constructed SOS Police Post.

The residents have since challenged their area councilor to explain to the community what has caused the delay.

A resident only identified as Agatha has noted with concern that criminals have taken advantage of the lack of police presence in the locality and are attacking people even during the day.

The residents have since pleaded with the authorities to quickly open the police post in order to protect the lives of residents and their property.

And when contacted for a comment, Mwembeshi ward 27 councilor Kelvin Kaunda attributed the delay to open the newly constructed SOS Police post to lack of furniture.

Mr Kaunda has since assured the residents that the police post will be operational as soon as the furniture and other necessities are procured.
