MATERO EAST RESIDENTS BEMAON LACK OF DEVELOPMENT

BY NAMUKALE KAPENDE
Residents of Matero east have bemoaned what they termed as lack of development in that area.
Residents talked to by a Komboni radio news crew that visited the area yesterday, complained that Matero east has not fully benefited from developmental projects being undertaken in different parts of the city.
The residents cited the dilapidated state of roads as one area that has been neglected despite numerous complaints that have been made on the matter.
The residents charged that most roads in the area have become impassible especially during this rainy season.
They also complained that the uncollected garbage is posing danger to the health of residents as they fear for the outbreak of waterborne diseases.
And when contacted, Muchinga ward 24 councilor Elijah Makungu’s phone went unanswered by Press time.
