MARIA LANGA SCOOPS CHILANGA PARLIAMENTRAY SEAT

The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) has scoped the Chilanga Parliamentary by-election held yesterday.
Chilanga Totaling centre returning officer Wilbroad Bwalya announced the final results around 03 hours this morning.
PF candidate Maria Langa polled 7,226 votes against UPND candidate Charmaine Musonda who polled 6,410 votes translating into a difference of 816 votes between the two female candidates.
In third position was UPPZ candidate Francis Kope who polled 204 votes ahead of NAREP candidate Charles Mazabuka who got 92 votes.
And PF Media Director Sunday Chanda has described his party’s victory in the Chilanga Parliamentary by-election as a clear indication of the confidence that Zambians have in the leadership of President Edgar Lungu.
Mr Chanda has since assured the people of Chilanga that the PF will not betray the trust and confidence they have showed as the party is resolved to deliver on its campaign promises.
