Lusaka Province Medical Officer Dr. Matildah Kakungu says speculations that Lusaka has become a malaria free zone are not true.

In an interview with komboni radio news, Dr Kakungu explained that Lusaka is not malaria free but that a reduction in the number of malaria cases has been recorded.

She added the provincial medical office will continue with the roll back malaria interventions such as giving out mosquito nets and spraying in households.

Dr. Kakungu has since urged members of the public to go for checkups whenever symptoms of malaria manifest.

There have been speculations by members of the public that Lusaka has become a malaria free zone.
