LINDA RESIDENTS CALL FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A MATERNITY WARD AT THE LOCAL CLINIC

Residents of Linda compound have bemoaned the lack of a maternity ward at Linda health centre.

The residents have complained to a Komboni Radio News Crew that visited the community today that the absence of a maternity ward at the local health centre has proved to be very challenging for expectant mothers in the area.

Mr Cephas Matokwani lamented that expectant mothers are forced to seek antenatal services at Chawama clinic and at the University Teaching Hospital.

Mr Matokwani has since appealed to the government to construct a maternity ward at Linda Clinic in order to enable expectant mothers’ access antenatal services closer to them.

Another concerned resident Peter Sikazwe notes that the construction of a maternity wing at Linda Clinic will help reduce infant mortality cases in the country.
