LAZ CONDEMNS LEOPARDS HILL MEMORIAL PARK UPND-PF FRACAS

BY SYLVESTER KAUMBA

The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has added its voice in condemning the fracas that happened on Saturday last week at Leopards Hill Memorial Park where PF and UPND cadres clashed.

The Association says it is disheartened that such violet activities took place at the graveyard during a solemn occasion which is supposed to be respected by all, regardless of their political affiliation.

In a statement issued to Komboni Radio News, LAZ President Linda Kasonde says LAZ condemns the attack in the strongest of terms and welcomes the statement by the Home Affairs Minister to ensure the arrest of all the perpetrators of this violet attack.

Ms Katongo has since encouraged the police to quickly investigate and bring to book culprits of this shameful act.

She has also appealed to political leaders to take action against their supporters who are perpetrators of this violence and take a stand against such violet actions.

The LAZ President stated that the graveyard fracas is the latest in a string of worrisome events that evidence high levels of intolerance, disregard for the law and political polarization in society.
