Street vendors at first class town center in Kitwe are appealing to the Kitwe city council to give them more time to find alternative trading places before removing them from the streets.
The affected vendors have complained to Komboni radio news that the Kitwe city council forced them out of the streets without allocating them an alternative trading place.
The vendors explained that the selling on the streets is their only source of income adding that chasing them will send their families into serious poverty.
Kitwe city council removed street vendors in Kitwe’s central business district and allocated them to chisokone market in an effort to restore sanity in the city.
