KASAMA RESIDENT CALLS FOR UNIT AMONG TO GOVT OFFICIALS

A Kasama resident has expressed concern at the seemingly infighting going on in top government officials in the district.

Speaking in an interview, Burton Bwalya called for an end to the seemingly differences and divisions among people in decision making positions

Mr. Bwalya has noted with concern that what is obtaining in Kasama is retarding development in the district and the province at large.

He said there is need to promote dialogue and the intensification of cooperation and consensus-based decision-making.

And Mr. Bwalya has noted that the delay to complete the construction of Chikumanino intercity bus terminus has contributed to street vending.

He added that once completed, the new intercity bus terminus will improve revenue collection by the local authority.

Meanwhile, Kasama Central Member of Parliament Kelvin Sampa has maintained that there is need to find a better trading place before vendors are removed from the streets.

Mr. Sampa said it is in this vein that government is in a hurry to finish the construction works of Chikumanino bus terminus.

He disclosed that the construction works will resume as soon as the rains stop.

Mr. Sampa added that in the same vein, the construction works of township roads will commence after the rain season.
