Kasama Central Member of Parliament Kelvin Sampa has taken to task Anhui Shurian construction group, a company engaged to construct the Kasama Airport as to why it has NOT resumed works despite government releasing funds for the project.

Mr. Sampa saysworks at the airport have stalled for over seven months now.

He has since directed the contractor to expedite the works in order to complete the project in good time.

Mr.  Sampa said this yesterday when he inspected the progress on the project.

Mr. Sampa further urged the contractor to ensure that local contractors are included in the project.

Meanwhile Anhui Shurian construction group site engineer Berry Lee has attributed the delay to continue with the project to Corona Virus.

He adds that works will resume once the machinery and other COVID-19 protective materials are in place.
