Mandevu Member of Parliament Jean Kapata has assured traders in her constituency that Mandevu Big Market will not be sold.
Speaking when she addressed markeers at Mandevu market today following speculations that market has been sold to a Chinese investor, Ms Kapata assured the traders that the market has not been sold and urged them to ignore such rumours.
She charged that the rumours are being peddled by some people who want to gain political mileage and tarnish the image of the local leadership.
The Mandevu Law-Marker has since assured traders that she will continue to engage so that the misunderstanding over the issue is sorted out as soon as possible.
