KANYAMA RESIDENTS CALL FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A BLOOD BANK AT LOCAL HEALTH CENTRE

Kanyama residents have appealed to the Ministry of Health to establish a blood bank at Kanyama Health Centre in order to reduce the number of patients being referred to the University Teaching Hospital.

Alex Mubanga has charged that Kanyama Clinic which is earmarked for upgrading to a first level Hospital status needs to have its own blood bank and wondered why cases such as blood transfusion should all be  referred to UTH.

Another resident only identified as Yonah has also called on the ministry of health to deploy more health workers at the health center in order to cater for the growing population of residents in Kanyama compound.

He has noted with concern that the health workers at the local clinic are not enough to carter for the population of people seeking medical service at Kanyama Health Centre.
