Kantolomba residents are elated with the commencement of construction works for the first ever clinic in the compound.

ZANIS Ndola reports that the residents are happy that their area Member of Parliament Dr Jonas Chanda is spearheading the construction works of the clinic by using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the project.

Mrs Mirriam Lungu a marketeer who has resided in Kantolomba for over 30 years explained that the initiative by the law maker is very progressive.

She explained that the area has never had a clinic before and that pregnant women are forced to walk long distances to nearby clinics in Lubuto and Twapia townships to access medical facilities.

Another resident Mike Mbewe thanked the area MP for considering local labour in the building project.

On Monday, Bwana Mkubwa MP Dr Jonas Chanda confirmed the commencement of construction works for Mwenye and Kantolomba clinics is his constituency.

Dr Chanda revealed that the two clinics which are being constructed using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) will gobble K800, 000. 00 and that they will both operate on a 24-hour basis.
