Women of Kamanga compound staged a demonstration at the Chakunkula ward councilor’s office demanding for the immediate restoration of water supply to the area.
The women who carried empty buckets and plastic containers complained that the area has had no water supply for over two months now forcing them to walk long distances in search of the commodity.
Efforts to get a comment from the Lusaka water and sewerage company proved futile by broadcast time.
Meanwhile some members of the Chakunkula ward development committee who also had a tough time to explain to the women said the water problem has been reported to the water utility company which has since promised to address the problem.
