KABWE BUS DRIVERS PROTEST

Some bus drivers in Kabwe this morning protested demanding the dismissal of police officers whom they accused of causing an accident that claimed a life last Saturday.

In an interview with Komboni Radio News, a bus drivers who declined to be named alleged that some traffic officers are unprofessional and a danger to pedestrians and other road users as they have a tendency of chasing after motorists.

Another bus driver also called for the dismissal or transfer of some police traffic officers from Kabwe whom he accused of being overzealous in the discharge of their duties.

Commuters in Kabwe were this morning left stranded after some bus drivers packed their vehicles in protest of the alleged unprofessional behaviour of some traffic police officers.

The bus drivers were also reportedly harassing their colleagues who did not park their buses and were asking passengers to disembark from the buses.

Meanwhile, Central Province Commissioner of Police Lombe Kamukoshi says the situation has normalized.
