KABANANA RESIDENTS BEMOAN INADEQUATE SCHOOL FURNITURE

BY NAMUKALE KAPENDE
Residents of Lusaka’s Kabanana compound have called on the ministry of General Education to ensure that schools in that area are stocked with enough furniture.
Residents talked to by Komboni Radio News are disappointed that in this modern era, government has schools were pupils are made to sit on the floor during lessons.
Charles Mtonga has noted with concern that lack of facilities such as desks in schools has continued to compromise the provision of quality education.
And another Parent Chalwe Kapanza questioned how the PTA fees are utilized and called on parents to hold school managers accountable for failing to acquire school furniture.
Ms. Kapanza also said that government should also address the teacher-pupil ratio stating that it is unfortunate that one teacher has a class of over 70 learners.
