Residents of Kabanana compound Fumbelo area have appealed for a police post.
Justine Kumwenda says the only police presence in the area is miles away and that the residents are finding it difficult to report cases to the relevant authorities.
Another resident identified as Alick Kumwenda says crime is on the increase in the area a situation he says is calling for the formation of a neighborhood watch as the community wait for the construction of a police post.
Efforts to get a comment from the civic leadership of Mandevu constituency proved futile by press time.
