John Laing compound has been in a power black-out for about five days now following the removal of a transformer by ZESCO after it developed a fault.
The transformer that has been removed is reported to have had a limited capacity to meet the power demand in that area a situation that resulted in the disturbance of the system.
And the affected residents have complained to Komboni radio news over the continued delay by the power utility company to restore electricity.
One of the residents Godfrey Sakala has told Komboni radio news that the continued power black-out has crippled business activities in that area and called on ZESCO to expedite the installation of a new transformer in John Laing.
Mr. Sakala has charged that the fault being experienced has been recurring over the years saying there is need for a lasting solution to be found.
