Upcoming Zambian musician J brown is reportedly suing rapper Tommy D over a remix of his song demanding the sum of K50, 000.
According to the letter addressed to the Zambia Music Copyright Protection Society-ZAMCORPS General manager obtained by Komboni Radio E-News, the singer said he was surprised to discover that one of his copyright protected songs was used to produce another song by Thomas Kaluba otherwise known as Tommy D without his permission.
He alleged that Tommy D used his idea from his song titled “I WISH” to produce the hit single “CALEB FUNDANGA” which he said was inappropriate and offensive.
He went on to say that he has contacted his legal team on the matter though was quick to state that he this willing to resolve this matter amicably with Tommy without going through the courts of law which he said would be time consuming on both parties.
He however proposed that this can only be achieved if Tommy D removes the song from his reverbnation account and other websites.
J Brown whose real names are Joseph Banda also claimed that he spent about K1000 to promote the song and therefore says he can only consider the matter closed if Tommy D pays him K50, 000.
But when contacted, Tommy D expressed ignorance on the matter and said he has just been hearing about that issue on social media.
