IMMORAL DRESSING CONTRIBUTES TO EARLY MARRIAGES AND DEFILEMENT CASES-SENIOR CITIZEN

A senior citizen has attributed the high number of early child marriages and defilements to improper dressing among girls.

Mr Stainley Mwamba has told Komboni Radio News in a walk-in interview that the dressing by some women and girls is unacceptable.

Mr. Mwamba has since appealed to the government to come up with laws that will regulate the way women dress in public in a bid to discourage sexual provocation.

He adds that introducing decent dressing will reduce the cases of early child marriages, defilements, rape and other indecent assaults.

Mr. Mwamba further observed that human rights are to blame for the increased number of girls dropping out of school in preference to getting married.

Recently, Minister for National Guidance and Religious Affairs, Reverend Godfridah Sumaili says government has no intention to regulate the dress code in the nation.

Reverend Sumaili says her ministry cannot regulate what people wear charging that it has to begin with families.

She added that people should consider dressing modestly in a bid to actualize the nation’s Christianity.
