ILLICIT BREW OF KACHASU WORRY KANYAMA RESIDENTS

BY NELLY BOTA

Residents of Lusaka’s Kanyama compound have expressed concern over the continued brew of the illicit traditional beer popularly known as Kachasu.

And the concerned residents have called upon the local authority to intensify patrols in the community and clamp down on people who are engaged in the illegal brew of Kachasu.

The residents have complained to a Komboni Radio News crew that visited the community that the brewing of Kachasu has wreaked havoc in many households.

David Phiri also complained that these shabeens where people buy Kachasu from don’t even have toilets for their customers a situation he says has forced patrons to relieve themselves in nearby houses.
