GOVT URGED TO SPEED UP THE FORMULATION OF A LAND POLICY

A resident of Hamaundu village in Chief Shakumbila’s Area in Sibuyunji District has urged the Ministry of Lands to expedite the formulation of land policy.

Mr. Moyo has noted with concern that the continued sale of huge chunks of land by some traditional leaders to foreign national will displace the indigenous Zambians in future.

President Edgar Lungu during his address to parliament earlier this year called directed the ministry of Lands to come up with measures that will ensure that sale of land in the country benefits the indigenous Zambians.

The president had expressed concern over reports of traditional leaders that were selling huge tracks of land to foreign nationals at a give-away price.
