GOVT URGED TO SCALE UP REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH SERVICES FOR MEN

Some concerned men in Lusaka have called on the Ministry of Health to scale up the provision of male reproductive health services in public health centres.

Speaking in separate interviews with Komboni Radio News, the men have observed the need for medical services to be provided to men that have conditions such as impotence among others.

The men have charged that most men with conditions such as erectile dysfunction have resorted to using herbal concoctions which are not scientifically tested thereby posing a threat to the health of the users.

And one of the men only identified as Charles advised men to reduce alcohol intake saying this seemingly contributes to erectile dysfunction among other reproductive complications.

And Men’s Clinic project Manager Limba Mumbi has indicated the need for health matters related to men’s sexual health to be incorporated into the country’s health care system.

Mr. Mumbi observed that reproductive health services are biased towards women adding that men with erectile dysfunction should also have easy access to treatment at medical facilities.

Mr. Mumbi has since advised men with reproductive conditions to seek medical attention from trained medical personnel.
