GOVT TO REHABILITATE HOUSES IN OLD KASAMA POLICE CAMP

Government has reiterated that it has not forsaken its police officers staying in the dilapidated houses at the old police camp in Kasama.
Reacting to some concerns raised by some sections of society regarding the deplorable state of houses, Northern Province minster Brian Mundubile stated that government will soon carry out a full rehabilitation of the police camp.
Mr. Mundubile, who is also Mporokoso Member of Parliament, disclosed that the ministry of home affairs will soon send a team of engineers to make assessment
The heavy rainfall being experienced in Kasama has started exposing the deplorable state of houses at the old police camp.

Some police officers talked to on condition of anonymity lamented in an interview that they fear for the lives of their families as the said houses have since started collapsing.

And an occupant of a house which recently collapsed due to heavy rains alleged that those charged with responsibility have failed to show leadership regarding their concerns.
