GOVT COMMENDED FOR ARRESTING FOREIGNERS ENGAGED IN ILLEGAL MINING

Some Lusaka residents have commended the Ministry of Home Affairs for apprehending foreign nationals involved in illegal mining and other prohibited activities.

The residents say therefore is need for the government to intensify the screening foreign nationals coming into the country.

One of the residents talked to by komboni radio news has observed that the foreign nationals have taken advantage of the hospitality of Zambians to engage in illegal activities to the disadvantage of the country.

Meanwhile, Mark Chimfwembe has bemoaned the continued engagement of foreign national in small businesses that Zambians can do.

Mr Chimfwembe has charged that some Chinese nationals have also resorted to street vending and are selling things like mobile phones among others.

Over the weekend, minister of Home Affairs Stephen Kampyongo announce that about 31 foreigners will be deported for having abrogated the provisions of their investment permits among other issues.
