GOVERNMENT COMMENDED FOR APPROVING THE NATIONAL ALCOHOL POLICY

The Southern African Alcohol Policy Alliance (SAAPA) has commended government for finally approving the National Alcohol Policy.

SAAPA regional President Phillip Chimponda says there is also need to adopt the Alcohol agenda at regional level in order to help address alcohol abuse.

Mr. Chimponda is hopeful that the policy document will be fully implemented in order to address alcohol abuse in the country.

And Pioneer Association Chairperson Fr. Charles Searson says the policy document is of international standards which if well executed will yield positive results.

Fr. Searson has since called for community awareness and participation in the implementation of the alcohol policy.

The National Alcohol Policy provides a framework within which the government of Zambia in association with other key stakeholders can develop targeted alcohol action plans in the best interests of all Zambians
