Farmers of Lunyina Village in Kasama have bemoaned the delay by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) to pay them for the maize they supplied to the agency.
The farmers who spoke through Lunyina Village headman Bernard Chishimba say if they are not paid their monies as soon as possible, the area will record a poor harvest in the 2018/2019 farming season as most farmers do not have money to buy inputs.
Headman Chishimba has since appealed to government to expedite the payment process saying it has been a challenge for farmers to meet their family, social and economic needs due to the delayed payment especially that farming is their main source of income.
