Choma Youth Development Organization Executive Director Partner Siabutuba has urged government to be practical in the empowerment programmes for young people in the country.
Speaking in an interview in Choma district yesterday, Mr Siabutuba bemoaned that up to now, government has not implemented any programmes to empower young people from the time the 2015 national youth policy and empowerment plan was launched.
Mr. Siabutuba says it is unfortunate that government wants to implement youth development activities alone without involving other stakeholders.
He has also noted with concern that youths are systematically denied access to information about the availability of youth empowerment funds.
Mr Siabutuba says youths in rural areas have failed to apply access to the funds as they cannot understand the application process which is written in English.
