EVICTED STREET VENDORS ASSURED OF TRADING SPACE ALONG TOKYO WAY

Organised Vendors and Traders Multi-purpose cooperative Society has re-assured traders who were evicted from the streets that they will be allocated trading space at Tokyo way market.
Organisation Deputy National Chairperson Jeffrey Katoposha has urged the affected traders not to panic as they will all be given space once the market currently under construction is completed.
Mr Katoposha disclosed that out of the 10,000 vendors the organization has in its data base, only 1250 vendors were allocated stalls at Lumumba trade centre.
And Mr Katoposha says the organisation is deeply saddened with the fire that swept through COMESA market on Thursday last week were goods worth millions Kwacha were burnt to ashes.
He has since appealed to the traders at COMESA to comply with government’s directive and relocate to City Market to pave way for the construction of a modern market.
