Electoral Expert MacDonald Chipenzi has urged the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to strictly enforce the Electoral Code of Conduct in Chilanga and wards where by-elections will be held on June 5 2018.
Mr. Chipenzi says the Chilanga sit will be very tightly contested and it is expected that politicians will be dishing out money in order to buy votes from electorates.
He has since appealed to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and other law enforcement agencies to be on high alert and ensure that those that will be engaging in Electoral malpractices are brought to book.
Mr Chipenzi has also reiterated his call on ECZ to enforce the Electoral Code of Conduct and use the Chilanga by-elections as a turning point after the bruising 2016 general elections.
He has attributed the political violence recorded in previous elections to failure by the commission to enforce the Electoral Code of Conduct.
