DISPLACED CHAISA ENTREPRENEURS APPEAL FOR LAND

BY NELLY BOTA

Small Scale Entrepreneurs operating outside Chaisa market have pleaded with government to relocate them to another piece of land following the sale of the land where they have been operating from for many years.

Speaking on behalf of the affected traders, Mr Felix Mulenga disclosed that they have been asked to vacate the land in question by an Indian national who has acquired the land.

Mr Mulenga lamented that a lot of families will suffer if the entrepreneurs are evicted from the land opposite the Catholic Church in Chaisa where they have been earning a living for many years now.

And another entrepreneur observes that a lot of students from trade schools have managed to acquire experience after working for them and are now working for big industries while others have set up their own businesses.

He has noted with concern that many youths in Chaisa compound will have nowhere to go if an alternative land is not found for the entrepreneurs who have been asked to vacate the place.

The Small Scale entrepreneurs who have been operating from the land in question include Mechanics, Welders and Carpenters.
