DC URGES FARMERS NOT TO SELL THEIR MAIZE TO BRIEFCASE BUSINESSMEN

Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama has advised farmers in Chief Sinadabwe’s Chiefdom of Siavonga District not to sale their maize to briefcase businessmen.

Mr Kanyama said government want farmers to benefit from their hard working by ensuring that they sell their produce at the right price.

He urged farmers not to panic and rush into selling their crops cheaply to briefcase businessmen but wait for the Food Reserve Agency to announce the maize price for this marketing season.

The Siavonga DC has disclosed that farmers in Chief Sinadabwe’s chiefdom managed to control the army worms that ravaged some fields and have recorded a good harvest compared to last year.
