COUNCIL URGED TO ENGAGE BUSINESS HOUSES TO WORK ON ROADS IN KAMWALA TRADING AREA

Some concerned Lusaka residents have appealed to the local authority to engage business owners in Kamwala trading area to contribute funds towards the rehabilitation of roads around that area.
The residents have stressed the need for business operators in Kamwala to take up the responsibility of maintaining roads as part of their social corporate responsibility.
They have noted with concern that the trading area becomes inaccessible during the rainy season as the area becomes heavily flooded.
One of the residents, who also work in one of the shops in Kamwala trading area, says the area councilor should engage business houses to work on the roads before the onset of the next rainy season.
He has noted that once the roads are worked on, it will be the same business owner that will greatly benefit as people will no longer shun the trading centre due to floods.
