The Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) has urged consumers to shun buying unlabeled mineral water packaged in sachets and bottles.
ZCSA Public Relations Manager Lee Hamunji says the country is in a transitional period from cold season to hot season when the demand for water is higher compared to the cold season.
Mr Hamunji charged that as such, several brands of bottled mineral water will manifest their presence on the market, hence the need for consumers to shun buying unlabeled bottled mineral water for the sake of their health.
He states that the safety of unlabeled bottled mineral water is not assured as such ZCSA will continue carrying out its inspections to ensure that products such as bottled mineral water is safe for consumption.
