COMESA TRADERS APPEAL FOR REHABILITATION OF ROADS

Traders at Lusaka’s COMESA market have appealed to the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure Development to extend the road construction works on Lumumba road to that area.
The traders have complained to Komboni Radio News that the market is slowly becoming inaccessible especially to motorists due to the dilapidated state of the road around that area.
Mr Charles Mwila says in as much as traders appreciate the ongoing construction works on Lumumba road, there is also need for government to extend the works to COMESA market in order to make it more accessible to motorists.
Meanwhile, a trader at COMESA market only identified as Mustafa has opposed the proposal by some traders and other stakeholders to establish a bus stop at COMESA market saying this will lead to congestion and compromise the security at the trading centre.
