BY SYLVESTER KAUMBA
Raphael Chota ward 22 councilor Joseph Tamba has warned bar operators in his ward that are allegedly allowing underage children to patronize their premises.
In an interview with Komboni Radio News, councilor Tamba charged that he will not hesitate to close down bars that are disregarding their liquor licenses with impunity.
Councilor Tamba has since called on residents in his ward to visit his office and report all the bars in the community that are allowing children to consume alcohol in their premises.
He stressed that it will be difficult for him to take action if residents do not avail him with information on erring bar operators.
And Councilor Tamba has also warned people that are brewing Kachasu in his ward to immediately stop the act.
The civic leader says he has received disturbing reports that some unscrupulous people are openly selling Kachasu on the streets and other drinking places.
