CHUNGA MARKET COMMITTEE SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TOILETS TO WARRANT CLOSURE OF THE MARKET

Leadership at Chunga market says it plans to meet the owner of a private property that has allegedly been built on a piece of land meant for the sewer network.
Market Committee Chairman Vincent Lungenda says his team will consider diverting the sewer line in order to connect it to the main sewer line.
Mr. Lungenda says there is nothing wrong with the toilets to warrant the closure of the market but that the problem of the blocked sewer network has resulted from an illegal construction which can be rectified.
The market leader told Komboni radio that a meeting to discuss the matter with the owner of the building will be held next week.
Recently Chunga Market traders protested after local authorities indicated that it would close the market owing to poor sanitation.
