The Anti- Corruption Commission -ACC – in Lusaka has arrested former Mumbwa Central Member of Parliament Brian Chituwo for corrupt practices involving non-declaration of interest.

Dr. Chituwo 70, of Lilayi, Lusaka was arrested and charged with one count of conflict of interest

ACC Public Relations Manager, Timothy Moono who disclosed the development explained that on dates unknown but between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2014, Dr. Chituwo attended a Council meeting in Mumbwa District, and participated in the proceedings to fund Blue Sky FM Limited, a private company in which he was director and shareholder without declaring interest in writing.

Dr. Chituwo has since been released on bond as he is scheduled to appear in court on Friday June,16 2017.

And Mr Moono disclosed that the commission has also arrested three former officials and an Acting Director from the Zambia Meteorological Department for corrupt practices involving over 49-thousand Euros.

Jacob Nkomoki 58, a retiree, Mukufute Mukelabai 60, a retiree, Oversease Mwangase 59 retired, and Joseph Kanyanga 53 an Acting Director at the Zambia Meteorological Department have each been charged with one Count of Corrupt Practices by Public Officer.

Mr. Moono said the four, on unknown dates but between July 1st, 2014 and November 1st 2015 in Lusaka, being public officers employed at the Zambia Meteorological Department, corruptly solicited for 12, 459 Euros cash each.

He said the money was gratification from GBMS Engineering LTD as an inducement or reward in order to sign the completion statement for the works that were awarded to GBMS Ltd based on contract.
