Residents of Masamba area in Lusaka’s Chipata overspill have called for intensified police night patrols following the increased criminal attacks that are being recorded.
The residents have charged that the thieves have raided the area and are breaking into homes and shops causing them to live in fear.
Speaking in an interview, Grace Mumbi complained that the thieves are targeting the market where they are breaking into shops getting away with various goods.
Ms. Mumbi alleged that the police have not handled the reports of burglary with the seriousness they deserve.
Another resident Florida Ngoma emphasized the need for the police to urgently intensify patrols in a bid to safeguard the lives of residents.
