A family of Lusaka’s Chipata Compound is demanding for justice to prevail in the case where their relative was beaten to death.
Sister to the deceased, who spoke on behalf of the family Maggie Njovu, disclosed that his brother was beaten after a misunderstanding with a person who later surrendered himself to the police.
Ms. Njovu explained that the suspect who was detained was later released on police bond and has since gone into hiding together with his surety.
Njovu named the deceased as Zebedee Njovu who died on Saturday of the alleged injuries he sustained after he was beaten.
The family has since pleaded with officers at Chipata police post where the matter was earlier reported to hunt down the suspect and ensure that justice prevails.
