Residents of Chilenje South have appealed to the local authority to erect speed humps and put road signs along the newly constructed roads in the area.

In an interview with a Komboni Radio News crew that visited the area today, the residents expressed happiness over the construction of the roads but however said there is urgent need to erect speed humps and road signs in order to avoid unnecessary road accidents.

The residents have noted with concern that some overzealous drivers have taken advantage of the smoothness of the road and are over speeding without any regard for other road users.

The residents have since urged the authorities to quickly erect speed humps to prevent further loss of lives.
