Residents of Chilenje Township behind Shoprite have called for the construction of Chisongo road and other feeder roads that are in a dilapidated state.
The residents have complained to a Komboni Radio News team that visited the area that construction works on the said road have not commenced despite assurances from the local leadership that the works will soon commence.
The residents charged that over two months have since elapsed from the time engineers were seen taking measurements at the site.
A resident only identified as bana Joe stressed that residents in that community also want to benefit from road construction works that government has embarked on in different parts of the country.
The residents have since petitioned their area councilor to ensure that the contractor quickly moves on site as the roads become impassable whenever there is a heavy down pour.
