Governance Activist Leslie Chikuse has called for peaceful and issue based campaigns in the fourth coming Chilanga Parliamentary by-elections.
In an interview with Komboni Radio News, Mr Chikusa urged electorates in Chilanga to reject campaigns of mudslinging and character assassination.
He says candidates in Chilanga should tell the people what they will do when voted into office instead of focusing their campaigns on the moral background of their political opponents.
Mr Chikuse who is also Republican Progressive Party (RPP) Vice president says it is regrettable that some people are raising moral issues which are not prescribed in the electoral law and the Zambian constitution.
He has since called on the people of Chilanga to vote for candidates who will address the challenges they are facing such as high employment levels and lack of access to safe and clean drinking water among other challenges.
