CHAWAMA RESIDENTS CALL FOR CONSTRUCTION OF DRAINAGES ALONG CHIMWEMWE ROAD

BY NAMUKALE KAPENDE
Residents of Lusaka’s Chawama compound have appealed to their civic leaders to facilitate for the construction of drainages along the newly refurbished Chimwemwe road in order to prevent it from wearing out quickly.
In an interview with Komboni radio news, Albert Daka says there is need for the authorities to construct a proper drainage system in order to allow free flow of rainy water and also to give the road a long life span.
Mr. Daka also noted with regret that lack of drains has greatly contributed to the floods that have characterized the community.
And another resident only identified as Geoffrey also emphasized on the need to construct drainages along the Chimwemwe road stating that the road has started getting damaged especially on the edges due to lack of drains.
