Some parents in Chamba valley have expressed concern over the alleged lack of seriousness by some teachers at the local government school in that area.
In an interview with a Komboni radio news crew that visited the community today, a parent only identified as Mrs. Hamalambo complained that teachers at the said school are always absent leaving no one to teach their children.
Mrs. Hamalambo has expressed worry as the situation has resulted in children to start engaging in illicit activities instead of being at school.
And another parent Joyce Mutale has called on the education authorities to address the teacher absenteeism at a named school in Chamba Valley as this has contributed to the poor performance of pupils during their exams.
