AUTHORITIES IN CHIPATA COMPOUND URGED TO ADDRESS AIR POLLUTION

Residents of Lusaka’s Chipata Compound have repeated calls on the authorities to address the air pollution being caused by the smoke emanating from the incinerator from the local health centre.
The residents have told a Komboni Radio News crew which visited the community that authorities should quickly address this issue especially that Chipata Health Centre is earmarked to be upgraded into a first level hospital.
And the residents have wondered why authorities have failed to address the issue of pollution in the community despite many complaints that have been made by members of the community.
And when contacted, Raphael Chota Ward 22 councilor Joseph Tamba acknowledged that his office has received reports of air pollution as a result of the smoke emanating from the incinerator from the local health centre.
And Mr Tamba has since assured residents of Chipata compound that he has engaged other stakeholders and the issue will soon be resolved.
