An unidentified man believed to be in his is early thirties is feared dead after he was knocked down in a hit and run accident along the Common Wealth road in Matero Township.
The accident happened last night around 20 hours.
According to eye witnesses, the victim was crossing the road when a speeding Toyota corolla ran into him and left him for dead before another vehicle also run over him.
A Komboni Radio News crew that rushed to the scene found scores of shocked residents watching helplessly as they waited for the police to arrive.
And the residents have expressed concern over the number of road accidents that have continued to be recorded on the said road.
The concerned residents have since appealed to the authorities to quickly move in and come up with measures that will ensure the safety of residents and other road users.
By Press time the victim was rushed to the health center for medical attention.
