A 33-YEAR-OLD MAN FOR SHOOTING DEAD HIS WIFE AND LOVER

Police in Lusaka have arrested a 33-year-old man for shooting dead his wife and lover in front of his children on Thursday evening.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo says Peter Siwale, a clearing agent of Nakonde in Muchinga Province also of Lusaka’s Meanwood Phase 2 allegedly shot dead his wife identified as Charity Namuko aged 30 together with the man she was with Andrew Chibesa aged 27, whom he suspected to have been having an affair with his wife.

Ms Katongo says the incident happened in Meanwood last evening between 18:00 and 19:00 hours.

She says the suspect trailed the victims who are both teachers at a named school in Kaunda Square to some place in Meanwood using a friend’s motor vehicle where he saw them in a romantic state.

Ms Katongo says he then picked the two who he took to his home where he is alleged to have shot both of them dead in the presence of his children.

The suspect is detained in Police custody while the bodies of the deceased are in UTH mortuary awaiting postmortem.

And a check by a Komboni radio news crew at the scene found a pool of blood in the living room of the suspect’s house where the incident is reported to have happened.

And narrating the ordeal, a security guard found on the scene said the incident happened last night around 19 hours.

Meanwhile the other residents found also expressed sadness over the killing of the two suspected lovers believed to be teachers at Munali Secondary School.
