37 YEAR OLD KAFUE MAN NABBED FOR BEING IN POSSESSION OF MORE THAN 100,000 COUNTERFEIT NOTES

The Drug Enforcement Commission in Lusaka has arrested a 37 year old male Zambian of Kafue district for being in possession of more than a hundred thousand Kwacha counterfeit notes.
DEC Public Relations Officer Theresa Katongo says Abraham Chidoyi 37; a fish farmer of Greenfield area in Kafue District has been arrested for being in possession of one hundred and 19 thousand, 240 Kwacha counterfeit notes in hundred Kwacha, Fifty Kwacha and Five Kwacha Bills.
Ms Katongo says other items seized from the suspect is a printer which was being used in the printing of counterfeit notes and a booklet containing uncut Zambian Kwacha counterfeit notes and Democratic Republic of Congo counterfeit notes.
She says the suspect is one of the major suppliers of counterfeit notes in Zambia and across the borders.
The DEC Public Relations officers says this is the biggest single seizure of Zambian counterfeit notes made by the commission this year so far.
The commission has warned Zambians especially small scale farmers to wary of unscrupulous people who may produce counterfeit notes from their small holdings and businesses.
Meanwhile, Ms Katongo has disclosed that the Drug Enforcement Commission during the Easter period arrested 13 persons for unlawful cultivation of fresh cannabis plants.
