A 36 year old man of Zingalume compound has committed suicide in unclear circumstances.
Brother to the deceased Joseph Mwika has told a Komboni radio news crew that visited the funeral house that James Mwika was only discovered dead yesterday after he allegedly took some poisonous substance.
Mr. Mwika narrated that the deceased did not show any signs of frustrations prior to his death adding that his motive behind the suicide still remains unknown.
Mr. Mwika added that the matter was reported to Matero police station and that the body was picked and is lying in the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) awaiting postmortem.
Meanwhile, a concerned resident has called on the church to consider seeking divine intervention over the mysterious deaths that have continued to be recorded in Zingalume compound.
The resident only identified as Mr. Mulenga has told Komboni radio news that the area has in the recent past recorded deaths where victims just drop dead without clear cause.
Meanwhile, Kapwepwe ward 25 councilor Patrick Salubusa has regretted the increased number of suicide cases being reported in Matero constituency.
In an interview with Komboni Radio News, Mr Salubusa attributed the increased suicide cases to the high unemployment levels in the area.
The civic leader said it is against this background that he intends to open an entrepreneurship center in the area where every youth will be able to access free knowledge and skills.
