A 28 year old woman of Kawama Compound in Mkushi District, Central Province has been arrested for brutally assaulting her four year old son.
Alice Kayula is believed to have assaulted the minor by burning one of his hand after she forced him to hold a burning brazier.
Central Province Commissioner of Police, Lombe Kamushi who confirmed the incident in a statement said that Cecilia Kunda reported the incident on behalf of her grandson on Saturday.
Ms. Kamukoshi explained that Mrs. Kayula brutally assaulted her son on learning that he had eaten beans that was reserved as relish for supper.
Kamukoshi said according to medical reports issued for medication, the victim sustained fire wounds on the right palm.
The minor is currently nursing his wounds at Mkushi Hospital.
